REC NETWORKS DIVERSITY STATEMENT
We have too many "variables" for every person. We see a day where many of these "variables" and labels can be eliminated and people are looked at for the person they are and not their birth features or lifestyle. Specifically, REC sees a day when we can remove the barriers of discrimination based on race, color, national origin, gender, gender identity and expression, marital status (including non-traditional marriage), sexual orientation, age, religion/faith (or choice to not practice any faith), veteran status and physical ability.
GENDER IDENTITY INCLUSION
REC Networks is specifically involved in the promotion of efforts to assure that gender identity and expression are included in the anti-discrimination policies of employers. While some confuse "sexual orientation" with gender identity, we are looking for employers to specifically protect gender identity.
"AGNOSTIC WITH AN OPEN MIND" VIEW TOWARDS RELIGION
REC Networks recognizes that for some people, religion is an important part of their lives. REC policy is to treat all faiths equally and not impose any beliefs of any particular faith upon anyone. REC believes that even though some faiths have been tied to various criminal acts such as terrorism and child molestation, we believe that it is the individual and not the religion that is responsible for such behavior. REC also recognizes a person's right to not practice a particular faith but still believe in some form of supreme being (agnostic) or not believe in a supreme being at all (atheism). REC provides our services (especially our broadacst database services) to any organization, regardless of their religious standpoint.
ACCESSIBILITY TO THE BLIND AND VISUALLY IMPAIRED
REC Networks is currently undergoing an audit of its websites to review if they are easily accessible by those who are blind or visually impaired and are dependent on using text to speech (screen reader) software, refreshable Braille displays, large font size or magnified display to properly view REC content. REC also watches causes and campaigns that will support the blind and visually impaired community.
REC ACTIVITIES PRIOR TO 1996
Certain REC activities prior to 1996 may not be consistent with our current Diversity Statement. As with any individual or organization, we learn from our past mistakes and make positive changes for the future. We encourage others to learn from their's and other's mistakes and make positive changes for the future.
