A user reported that FCCdata has not updated its amateur radio information in a long time.
We believe that it has to do with new security measures put in place by the FCC after the recent failure of ULS.
As of 07-14-23 7:40 AM ET we are currently doing a full data update on amateur radio listings. This involves a full download of the ULS database (as opposed to the daily updates) and then running the daily updates to make the system current.
We will also run similar operations to support Traveler's Information Station records, Broadcast Auxiliary and microwave listings, maritime callsigns and other services we get from ULS.
This is an open issue.
Update 7-14-23 06:00PM ET - The amateur radio functionality was restored. Over the weekend, we will be looking at other ULS services. This issue remains open.
Update 7-15-23 06:35AM ET - The functionality for private land mobile (for Travelers Information Stations), broadcast auxiliary (remote pickup units), microwave (studio to transmitter links) is restored. For this functionality, as well as the amateur radio functionality, we will need to address issues with database loading, which impacts a small number of records. This issue remains open.
Update 7-15-23 06:50AM ET - The functionality for Antenna Structure Registrations (used in various REC tools for searching including the TowerFind application and the FCCdata tower payload function), coast and ship stations (used for determining 4-letter call signs used for martime stations) is restored. This issue remains open.
Update 7-15-23 07:15AM ET - Fixed issues with the parser for the ASR data where some records would not ingest. The issue was related to specific ULS records with invalid characters in the raw data feed. We have addressed those specific database records. The martime data does not have these defects. This issue remains open.
