08/30/2024 08:00AM EDT - The DNS for recnet.com, www.recnet.com, gis.recnet.net (which manages the mapping) have been changed to the Sys40 server. New SSL certificates have been established. We note that it may take time for these changes to propagate through the internet to other domain name servers. During this period, you may experience:
- SSL browser warnings ("this site may be insecure"). If you get this, you may use the override to safely proceed to the site.
- Blank maps on FCCdata and other map-based REC pages.
For recnet.com, if you receive a website that has a black colored theme as opposed to a blue colored theme, then you have successfully reached the System 40 server.
Some things you can try if you are having difficulty:
- Windows users can flush their DNS cache by accessing a command prompt (windows-R) and then on the DOS prompt, type ipconfig /flushdns
- In your browser, clear your cache, exit the browser completely and then restart the browser. (There is no need to delete the cookies)
- In rare cases when all else fails, you can do the old tech support meme of exiting out of everything, rebooting the computer and starting over again.
Please stay tuned to this page and to the REC Facebook page (facebook.com/recnet) for updates.
