We are in the process of converting "back room" applications to work with System40.
The following applications were converted:
- Amateur Radio Logbook of the World. (updates to Legacy database)
- Amateur Digital Mobile Radio (DMR). (updates to Legacy database)
- ULS daily update for the Amateur Radio Service (updates to Legacy database)
- ACMA (Australia) Spectra database daily update (parallel database operation)
- Canada ISED Broadcast database updater. (parallel database operation) (see note 1)
- Canada ISED Amateur Radio database weekly updater. (parallel database operation)
- ULS Broadcast Remote Pickup (RPU) weekly updater. (parallel database operation)
- ULS Studio to Transmitter/Electronic News Gathering (STL/ENG) weekly updater. (parallel database operation)
- ULS Traveler's Information Stations (TIS) weekly updater (parallel database operation).
- ULS Antenna Structure Registration (ASR) weekly updater (parallel database operation).
- ULS maritime callsigns (ship and coast) weekly updater (parallel database operation).
- International Bureau Filing System (IBFS) weekly updater (parallel database operation).
Many of the Legacy versions of this code were written in perl. For System40, they were rewritten in PHP 8.
Some Legacy databases were copied to the Sys40 database:
- Mexico static database copied to the Sys40 environment.
- Japan (broadcast stations) static database copied to the Sys40 environment.
- CDBS static database copied to the Sys40 environment.
- Census 2020 static database copied to the Sys40 environment.
(updates to Legacy database) - Incoming data is received and processed by System40 and then sent to the Legacy database which updates current user-facing interfaces. When the full database is transitioned to System40, then these applications will point to the new database.
(parallel database operation) - Incoming data is received and processed by System40 is not written to the Legacy database. The Legacy versions of these applications will continue to support user-facing interferences until the database or applications that use that data is transitioned to System 40.
(note 1) ISED broadcast data from Canada is not being updated as routinely as so in the past. We may make a reduction in the frequency of the updates. This will be determined at a later time.
