Complete rewrite of the process and programs used to update Mexico broadcast data (AM, FM and TV). The new programs automate many of the steps in the process we use to retrieve this data from the IFT, parse it and present it. While recent system changes at the IFT still make this a manual process in one way, we have automated the rest and reduced the need to run 6 programs down to 2. The new programs also substantially reduce the number of calls made to FCC resources for FM and TV during these updates.
A full Mexico update was carried out today and has been reflected in FCCdata for radio and TV. We note that data from several new fields as well as the data on amateur radio licensees, while in REC's DataStore is not yet reflected in today's changes. This will require a systems enhancement which is normally outside of the scope of the System40 transition which is focused on transitioning the programs in their current state while allowing for fixes with fatal issues already existing. We will consider enhancements to FCCdata when that system is transitoned later this year.
Made a fix in FCC.today that was directly attributed to this past weekend's transition work.
Created a single program to handle the loading of data from Ofcom, CommReg and CNaM in respect to radio broadcast data (FM radio and also for the UK, AM and DAB). DAB functionality for Ireland was not included as the Republic of Ireland discontinued all DAB services.
Performed a full update on the United Kingdom for AM, FM and DAB. CommReg's last update for Ireland's RTE stations was in 2014 and the data for commercial and community stations in Ireland from CNaM was recieved through special arrangements in 2023. They had not been offering that data publicly.
