REC Networks has announced today that it plans to remain streaming with the renewal of an agreement that will extend Hardcore J until the end of November, 2009.
Started in 2001, Hardcore J is a streaming radio station on Live365 that plays Japanese popular music geared towards an English speaking audience. Despite that, a significant part of Hardcore J's listening hours come from Japan.
Hardcore J is the sole remaining streaming service from the AHR Properties operation of REC, which at one time consisted of as many as 8 radio networks. In operation for 387 consecutive weeks, Hardcore J is the longest running significant operation at REC Networks.
"I am glad that we will be able to operate Hardcore J throughout 2009 when the station will celebrate its 400th chart and REC Networks will celebrate its 25 year anniversary." says Michelle Eyre, founder of REC Networks.
This past year, all costs for Hardcore J were covered by listeners through subscribing to Live365 VIP memberships and through the use of website affiliate programs.
