For those who use the REC Broadcast Query tool
http://cdbs.recnet.net:8080/fmq.php
there are some updates in progress. We are adding in functionality to support REC's comments in MM Docket 99-25 related to the handling of Window 83 (Great Translator Invasion) applications.
For the 6,000+ pending GTI applications, the tool will eventually:
- Within the service contour of the translator, it will display the population of the area served by the translator as well as show the percentage of area (by population) within that service contour where LPFM stations can be constructed. The chart will break down 0 channels, 1 channel, 2 channels and 3+ channels. (This functionality is being slowly built in.. It should be completed by Monday).
- The tool will show additional applications for the same applicant, at the same site for different channels. (This functionality is in and working)
- The tool will show applications with defects (power to high for antenna height, international border restrictions, etc. This functionality is being worked on over the next day or two)
For those of you who are not aware of it, the REC Networks Broadcast Query Tool is an extensive station look-up for FM, FM Translator, FM Booster, LPFM, AM, TV and LPTV stations as well as full Canadian data from their administration.
Due to all of this batch processing going on right now, query times on the LPFM Search Tool may be longer than usual. Thank you for your patience.
