"I did receive today's news about the postponement of Auction 106. I do remain concerned about the current status of a future reserved band NCE window as well as a future window for LPFM applications. NCE and LPFM stations provide a noncommercial voice and have the unique ability to inform the community from a hyperlocal to a wide area. Despite the postponement of the Auction, the vacant allotments will remain and current rules require both full-service NCE stations and LPFM stations to protect vacant allotments.
I am hoping that today's action does not have a major impact on the preparation and execution of a filing window for new NCE-FM reserved band stations. It has been 13 years since the last opportunity. There is still some work to do before LPFM can move forward, but I am still hoping we can get a NCE window in sometime in the foreseeable future."
