The company behind a quartet of broadsheet newspapers serving a rural portion of Tennessee to the north of the city of Jackson has agreed to purchase an AM/FM combo west of that city known to local listeners as "Brownsville Radio."

It boasts a 5kw daytime signal and some 75 watts at night from a broadcast tower due south of Music City USA, offering "Radio Close To Home" to its listeners since March 1953. Now, a change in ownership is on the horizon.

For nearly 13 years, he advocated for broadcast television and radio as a member of the NAB's Media Relations and Communications corps. As 2024 began, this longtime Washington, D.C., PR pro joined an advocacy organization squarely opposed to much of what the NAB has advocated for on behalf of its MVPD members.

“We are making more spectrum available to bolster this growing eco-system of cutting-edge applications like wearable technologies and augmented and virtual reality, that will help businesses, enhance learning opportunities, improve healthcare outcomes, and bring new entertainment experiences,” said Chairwoman Rosenworcel.

CPB has awarded a total of 30 grants to date through the first round of funding for the Next Generation Warning System grant program, funded by FEMA. Stations in Alabama, Indiana, Louisiana, Missouri, Tennessee, and Virginia are the latest to receive funding to upgrade equipment for public safety.

NATPE Global is returning to South Florida in February 2025, and the Brunico Communications-owned gathering is crowing about the confirmed participation of some of the biggest TV content producers in the world — a sign that the event, which collapsed during the COVID-19 pandemic, shows signs of life once again.

It airs a contemporary music format targeting Polish-speaking audiences in greater Chicago during daylight hours, and at night airs dance and electronic music under the "Dance Factory" brand.  Pending FCC approval, this Class A 1.8kw facility licensed to Arlington Heights, Ill., will be under new ownership.
