Since our announcement last week, REC has begun the transition process to the new System 40 environment.
Since our announcement last week, REC has begun the transition process to the new System 40 environment.
REC Networks has reinstated our System 40 Project.
Originally started in October, 2023 and then previously cancelled, REC is in the process of implementing System 40 as part of REC Networks' 40 year anniversary.
The objectives of the System 40 Project include:
On August 12, 2024, REC Networks releases numerous system enhancements in support of our PACE Initiative. PACE is a recognition program that evaluates LPFM stations on four different criteria in the past four years:
eLMS has added two new report runs that will check filed applications to determine if either:
Two new tables have been added to eLMS to support this data:
ORIGINALLY POSTED 6/29/2024 11:30AM EDT - UPDATED 7/1/2024 11:45 AM EDT
A bug was identiifed in the application parser where effective radiated power (ERP) was not being properly picked up on some applications. This specific issue has been resolved.
eLMS has a silence log that keeps track of speciifc incidents of station silence. The silence log is a program that runs in the daily update that looks at each silent STA and silent notification and then matches any subsequent resumption of operations notifications into the same incident. The silence log also keeps archived CDBS history.
A new Status Overrride table has been added to eLMS and related functionality has been added to the parser and status sync utility.
The need for this new functionality is due to inconsistencies that staff is using to deal with denied amendments. What we are finding is that in some cases, staff is statusing unacceptable amendments as Dismissed (DIS) instead of Denied (DEN).
eLMS is now fully processing applications for resumption of operations on AM and FM broadcast facilities. This means that they will now properly appear in FCCdata with suspension and resumption dates and the number of days of the outage. The "silence log" in eLMS is still not taking into consideration stations that resume their operations through a license to cover application.
REC Networks has released myLPFM version 3.4.
With the version 3.4 release, myLPFM will now display US Census Bureau 2020 block data that is already gathered by REC through the eLMS process.
On the Station Information option, myLPFM there will be a new Census Data tab. This tab will show the data, which includes the following information:
We have updated the market rankings to reflect the Nielsen Audio - Spring, 2024 ratings period. These changes have been made in our legacy and Census2020 market tables.
A list of the changed markets can be found here:
https://recnet.net/fcc/spring2024_market_changes.pdf
Deployed a new user interface to the Federal Register data from the REC Website.
The URL is:
https://recnet.com/fr
By default, the interface will show the 10 newest Federal Register items.
Clicking the [Open for Comments] button will show all proposed rules items with a comment date on the same day and in the future. This is very handy to check to see Notices of Proposed Rulemaking and other FCC items for which comments are being accepted.
REC has deployed a new interface with the Application Processing Interface (API) for the Federal Register.
A program will run hourly at 12 minutes past each hour to poll the Federal Register API for new abstracts. We expect these items to only be updated once per day.
For all items for the Federal Communications Commission, the following information will be put into the DataStore:
Currently, eLMS updates run every 15 minutes throughout the day on weekdays and every 60 minutes on evenings and throughout the weekend.
Starting on Monday, March 25, 2024, REC's eLMS system will be increasing its schedule for updates from the FCC to bring our weekday schedules back to older levels.
These eLMS updates drive the updated information you see at FCC.today, FCCdata.org, the REC Filing Window Tracking Tool and other REC services using the eLMS infrastructure.
On March 8, 2024, REC has updated our database to reflect LPFM facilities' eligibility for an upgrade to the LP250 class of service proposed by REC in RM-11909 (Simple250).
This current run includes:
On Tuesday, March 5 and Wednesday, March 6, 2024, LMS was displaying a similar behavior. During the downtime, the LMS public interface would return a 503 System Unavailable message. This also makes the page used to download LMS raw data unavailable. As a result REC is not able to retrieve the raw data dump at its scheduled time (5:45 AM ET) as well as scheduled eLMS polling activities (every 15 minutes starting at 6:00 AM ET).
On Tuesday, March 5, REC detected the outage starting at 2:59AM and ending at approximately 9:13AM (ET).
